Newton Police report they are looking for six men and a woman they say broke into Garden City Vape & Smoke, 21 Lincoln St. early Monday and "stole various vaping paraphernalia."

MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng this morning released a proposed schedule for track repairs across most of the T subway system in 2024 that will mean more of the multi-day shutdowns riders have grown accustomed to over the past couple of years, but which he says will ultimately mean faster, smoother rides. Richard Hanson, 64, was charged with assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury after police found his wife, Nancy with "apparent blunt force injuries" at their 66 Brookline St. home last night, police and the Middlesex County District Attorney's office report. The non-profit Newton Community Farm on Nahanton Street reports somebody spent some serious time Thursday night or Friday morning digging up and making off with hundreds of plants.

A Suffolk Superior Court judge last week ordered the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission to give Gopuff, a Philadelphia-based delivery company, its license to deliver alcohol back while its lawsuit against the commission proceeds. Read more.
Gopuff, a Philadelphia chain that last week lost its state license to deliver alcohol after inspectors cited it for repeatedly delivering alcohol to BC freshmen, yesterday sued to get its license back, arguing it's completely changed its ID and training policies - that it's unfair the state didn't rescind its license until nearly 2 1/2 years after the violations and that the punishment was particularly unfair for a "first time" violation. The state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission yesterday ordered the immediate shutdown of the GoPuff delivery outlet at 82-84 Needham St. in Newton after hearing evidence that over five days in the fall of 2021, its drivers delivered beer, vodka, wine, tequila, hard seltzer and even Four Loko to Boston College freshmen at a variety of locations on and near the BC campus. Federal officials today announced the arrests of several men they say spent recent years detaching catalytic converters from vehicles across Massachusetts for sale outside the state - led by a man who apparently never watched The Wire, because part of the evidence against him consists of extensive notes the feds say he kept on "the extensive criminal conspiracy that he orchestrated."
