If Boston wants to get larger, it'll have to dump some landfill in the Harbor

Eric reports on MyDedham that Dedham has basically stopped negotiations with a developer to cede the Dedham half of the old Stop & Shop property for an 1,850-unit housing project.

Town officials and the owner of the property on the Dedham/Hyde Park line were just too far apart in their ideas of how to compensate Dedham. He adds that instead, Campanelli will instead look at maximizing industrial use on the Dedham side and look at building housing on the Readville side. The land is accessible through a single road connecting to the Neponset Valley Parkway.
