Wasting no time: Man arrested for attempted Roxbury break-in just three days after he was arrested for a more successful Roxbury break-in
Boston Police report arresting a Mattapan man they say officers interrupted in the middle of breaking into a gas station on Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury - less than three days after he was arrested for an April break in at a convenience store about a half mile away on Warren Street.
Police say officers on patrol spotted a guy skulking near the front door of Roxbury Energy Gas at 67 Blue Hill Ave. shortly before 2 a.m.
Due to recent incidents of both commercial and residential burglaries in the area, officers decided to approach the male. As officers arrived at the business, the male was no longer in the area. Upon further investigation, officers observed a large pair of bolt cutters attached to the lock and the lock appeared to have been cut. Officers recovered the bolt cutters and searched the area for the male they had seen earlier. Officers located the male a short distance later and placed him under arrest.
Trevor Walthall, 53, was charged with attempted breaking and entering, attempting to commit a crime and possession of burglarious tools.
Walthall is no stranger to the officers of BPD: On Wednesday afternoon, he was arrested on a warrant charging him with breaking into a convenience store at 338 Warren St. on April 23. In that case, police say:
The suspect was observed on security video breaking a front door lock as he gained entry to the store where he caused damage to a cash register before fleeing the area with an undisclosed amount of cash, tobacco products, a 50” inch television and other items of value.
Innocent, etc.
