The outbound Needham 4:47(ish) train could have used the visual effects. The announcements were distorted along with the high pitched ringing. I may be able to hear in a few days... Would have preferred a Metallica concert instead.

As usual all of the "93% on time" Needham line could have used those effects last night. Maybe it's Keolis and the T's plan...give customers seizures and they won't care that the trains don't show up, are late, on fire, etc.

You could sync that clip with On the Run track 3 on the Dark Side of the Moon Album.
Speaking of Laserium it is coming back to the MOS: Charles Hayden Planetarium this upcoming Friday and Saturday.

Flashing lights like this can lead to seizures in some circumstances. The conductor should have moved passengers to the next train car.

Investing in right of way maintenance, electrification, maintenance and/or new rolling stock to improve speed - any of those is expensive and hard!

Easier to spend on special effects to look like going fast - Millenium Falcon hyperdrive, LoneStar's hyperjets, Spaceball One's "Cuisinart" going to plaid...

Heck! They could glue a flux capacitor and a Mr. Fusion to the roof of a commuter rail locomotive and feel faster. Anyone know if there's any section of the system where the commuter rail trains can and do get up to 88 MPH?
