Dig publisher: Editor was really a reporter

Boston Magazine interviews Weekly Dig Publisher Jeff Lawrence on why he canned Dig Editor Michael Brodeur (since then, the paper's managing editor and one of its reporters have also quit).

The Dig has really gone downhill since Keohane left. Not sure if it's because of Brodeur, or because of the publisher buy-back, but whereas 12 months ago it was a must-read every week, I don't mind missing it now.

Everybody keeps talking about how bad The Dig has gotten, but I don't see it. The things I dislike about it are still there, and the things I thought were good seem to be intact. I can't really think of anything that has changed that much--except for the glossy cover which is not really a plus or a minus to me.
