I don't know if that's a good reason not to date someone from work... It's more like a good reason (a) not to overreact to silly crap you hear in the office (if you're a guy), (b) not to spread vicious rumors and otherwise act despicably (if you're a gal), or (c) not to get some sorta sick enjoyment from spreading rumors about people you don't know (whether you're a guy or gal).
But not dating someone from the office isn't the moral I got from the story.
