Party boys and girls with addict brains. Consumption of mind altering substances interrupts common sense and the ability to follow rules. Some humans are wired differently.
That doesn't excuse irresponsible behavior.
Irresponsible behavior, especially during the middle of a pandemic, is totally inexcusable, on the part of anybody. It doesn't matter who they are, what their problems are, of what their walk of life is, or how they're hard-wired together. These students who decided to party with no masks, no social distancing, and having such a large gathering of people deserved the punishment that they were given by UMass/Amherst Administration.
Some things never change!
As a UMass Amherst alum, a lot has changed about UMass, but it seems that some things never do! Every year we'd hear about the Blarney Blowout and I would just roll my eyes.
The stupidity displayed by these students--beyond belief.
The utter stupidity displayed by these 200 UMass/Amherst students practically defies belief. Good for the University Administration for putting them on suspension for endangering other people, as well as themselves, during this pandemic! It serves these students right! Since they're old enough to go to college, vote, serve in the military, sign a legal binding contract, marry, buy a house, and receive medical treatment without parental consent, they're old enough to suffer the consequences of not abiding by rules for mask wearing and social distancing, and against having large gatherings of people, either indoors or out.
No sympathy for these UMass/Amherst students from these quarters!
Actions have Consequences!
