Tell us why we should care. What are they discussing? Stop being so inscrutable!

He never stops...never. He is immune to reality I think.

We need to cut Don some slack on this one. The Boston Finance Commission is the only independent oversight commission for the government of the City of Boston. They are the investigatory agency when things don't pass the sniff test, like the Forsyth Institute paving over city park space so they could build on it, or city workers clocking in and then disappearing for the day.

The appointments are made by the Governor (I believe), but funding for staff comes from the city. The mayor has cut their budget to the minimum. If we were wise, we would all show up and give the staff a round of applause and then make the Mayor cough up the $$ to let them do an even better job. As it is, the staff of two are simply terrific.

What's so special about this meeting?

I'm guessing that they only meet formally once a year, like the city's Compensation Advisory Board.

If I go and take good notes and maybe a picture, would you consider posting it? I don't have a blog.

Thanks.
