Or as Lily von Schtoop puts it, oh, shutcher sweet-potato pie hole, because there are any number of other soul-food joints in this burg to try. She mentions several, but not the newish one down on Fairmount Avenue in Hyde Park (where there are several interesting new hole-in-the-wall places to try, for that matter).

I think all the hoopla is just more of the same old bemoaning of gentrification. There was a similar weepy story in the paper yesterday about the closing of Liquor World in the far South End. Come on. As for soul food, Ms. von Schtoop is dead on. Chef Lee's in Uphams Corner is yummy. As for M&M ribs, don't try the Columbia road location where M&M used to squat on a vacant lot. It is now housing. Shall we all shed a few tears over that one too?
