Andrew Kreshtool wonders what happened in or near the O'Neill Tunnel around 9 p.m. yesterday:
Why did traffic in the the Tip O’Neill Tunnel NB come to a complete halt for 5+ minutes, then open back up with filled with smoke but no other signs of trouble whatsoever???

This can happen when the filter system isn't working or is clogged (or the ventilation into the tunnel fails).
(becomes nostalgic for "hold your breath" while passing through the old South Station Tunnel)
