Driver plows into Oak Square barbershop

Dan O'Brien came across the aftermath of a car crash in Brighton's Oak Square tonight: A damaged 34 Barber Shop and streetlights that were no longer on.

So thats two barbershops destroyed by Boston drivers in 3 weeks? Throw dangerous drivers in prison. Enough of this death and destruction caused by one group.

Barbershops are particularly to blame.The hair care industry needs to better police their own. They act like they own the retail strips.
I narrowly avoided an eyebrow threading place that suddenly opened a few weeks ago.

At least they do high vis. If a driver can’t see a barbershop pole maybe the driver shouldn’t be driving.

Time for a guessing game as to the next spot for a car plowing. I'll go with Barry's Corner. On Sunday, after the Harvard hockey game, I was waiting for the 70 bus, and cars were absolutely flying down Western Ave. and North Harvard Street.

I never partook, but I certainly walked by plenty, and thought it looked like a good place for a basic haircut (I'm a little more high-falutin with my hair).
I won't go full Kinopio, but this is a grossly repeating occurrence. Same thing probably led to the beginning of the end for Common Ground, too.

Simpsons trivia night (my first regular social event as a Bostonian - I was a minor, but they admitted me for dinner), Stump! Trivia (which led me down some kind of path for a long time), Phat Mike, karaoke, Luke, Wally, Sadie, good beer selection, and good food specials. Place was a huge part of my life for a long time.
Closed in 2019 with less than a week's notice...and that was a week that I was in Cali, so I didn't get to say goodbye in person. I still haven't been to the Asian place that's in the spot now, but that's on the wishlist for a future visit (which I haven't done as much as I'd like since leaving - only three in nine months).
Not being in Boston anymore hit me on New Year's Night (not New Year's Eve), when I found only one bar open among the six in my vicinity. Vermont rolls the sidewalks up at night.

In this case, that could almost sorta kinda be true. The asphalt on which the bike lanes are painted on Washington St between Oak Square and Brighton Center have the most bizarre topography - almost like ski moguls. The people who paved it there must have been drunk or something. It certainly makes biking in those lanes _interesting_.
Always thought that the moguls were from buses
In my neighborhood, we have these as well, and they tend to be at or near the bus stops. Not documented, but I always assumed that these were from the weight of the buses when the asphalt is soft in the summer. On Washington Street in the South End, the Silver Line stops all have concrete rather than asphalt, and my guess was that this was done to avoid the situation described in Brighton and elsewhere.
So
