The turkeys drew blood, but we don’t know what damage she inflicted with that anvil handbag. The TLA should focus on softer targets!

Cities and towns need to start treating these creatures as a threat, not an amusement. We've already lost the battle against geese, but at least they're only filthy, not aggressive. The turkeys are violent and threatening, especially to elderly people, and completely unafraid of humans. And humans aren't willing or able to learn and follow recommended practices for interacting with them.

If this is the worst thing that has happened is it really that big of a deal? I like having more turkeys, rabbits and other wildlife thriving. (Maybe the bears and coyotes can stay a little further away).
People's pet dogs cause infinitely more stress, pollution and damage yet we build dedicated parks for them.

Not around people. If they're around people, they are livestock, pets or pests. Wildlife and people need to not interact.

Geese can be threatening to the same people. They knocked over my nephew when he was giving treats to the birds to get more.

...but if little kids or even adults approach them, with or without food, it's no surprise that they might get animated. Geese are big, strong, and can definitely do some damage, but they pretty much just want to eat or to protect their nests and offspring. The turkeys want to dominate.

Speaking of Geese; I haven't seen many in their old haunts by the Muddy River around Simmons and the Elizabeth Stewart Gardner Museum. I wonder what scared them off?
