Man who is already an armed career criminal at 21 is second to be charged with September murder on Shawmut Avenue
Boston Police report arresting a former Dorchester man now living in Brockton on charges he gunned down Hanser Abraham Moreta-Gonzalez, 26, on Shawmut Avenue across from Ramsay Park last September.
Adornous Hazelwood, 21, was arraigned today in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and illegal possession of a loaded firearm, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Hazelwood was also charged as a level II armed career criminal, which could mean longer sentences should he be convicted of anything less than first- or second-degree murder, both of which carry life sentences. He was ordered held without bail.
In April, police in East Boston arrested Jason Amazan, 17, of Dorchester on a murder charge for Moreta-Gonzalez's death.
In June, 2022, Hazlewood, then living in Dorchester, was charged with being part of a group that chased and beat a man before robbing him of his phone, cash, sneakers and a diamond ring on Lenox Street, around the corner from where he is now charged with shooting Moreta-Gonzalez to death.
Innocent, etc.

If only he was held accountable
For his actions last year, this young man would be alive today.
