Dorchester man admits strangling his mother to death as she was on the phone trying to get help for him, DA says
Zackery Grandy, 25, today pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the strangulation death of his mother, Gisel Thomas, in their apartment on Columbia Road in Dorchester on Feb. 26, 2020, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Thomas was on the phone with a clinician from the Boston Emergency Services Team at the time, the DA's office reports:
The clinician heard what he believed was Grandy attacking the victim and called 911. Boston police responded to the home but did not receive a response. The victim’s brother discovered the victim’s body the following afternoon.
A Suffolk Superior Court judge sentenced Grandy to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 20 years.

I'd say unbelievable except sadly it isn't. Cops get a call someone is being attacked, no one answers the door and they just leave?
