Boston firefighters responded around 8 p.m. to 38 Fordham Rd. for what turned into a two-alarm fire.

The Boston Fire Department reports:

A heavy smoke condition turned into a 2nd alarm with fire inside & a heavy fire load in 1st floor apartment.
