State Police sergeant gets three years in overtime scandal
A federal judge this week sentenced William Robertson, a now former State Police sergeant, to three years in federal prison for his conviction on charges he not only took part in overtime abuse at State Police headquarters in Framingham, he helped in a failed effort to hide evidence from federal investigators.
Robertson's sentencing comes a few days after the lieutenant who headed the Traffic Programs Section where Robertson worked was sentenced to five years in prison.
In addition to his time behind bars, Robertson was also ordered to pay restitution of $329,163, a fine of $176,700 and a $2,100 special assessment, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports.
Both Robertson and his boss, Lt. Daniel Griffin, were tried and convicted at the same time for the same charges: One count of conspiracy, one count of theft concerning a federal program and four counts of wire fraud for their overtime abuse over at least three years.

If the crime they were
If the crime they were willing to charge him with was worth three years, imagine how bad what he REALLY did must have been.
Or maybe he's the scapegoat
so that others can be let off the hook.
Yeah, I'm pretty cynical about it too.
Pure Greed
And a culture of contempt breeds dirtbags like this.
