from the city.
Take the Pike, West Newton exit, you're there.
If you're in WR, Hyde Park, Roslindale the Dedham Community is v easy to get to.
Coolidge Corner "problematic" unless you live on the Green Line.
Somerville Theater is on the Red Line - I'm not sure I mean "easy" there.

also has a commuter train stop. But it's one of the worst in the whole MBTA system, completely unusable if you need a wheelchair, and pretty challenging if you have trouble climbing stairs.
too bad the Soth Station Cinema wasn't saved

it was the only Boston area theater which showed Bob and Daryl and Ted and Alex.
