I wonder if the jousters are the same group of people who practice in Ringer Park on weekends? It's always fun to see them.

Check out the Society for Creative Anachronism. There's a pretty active branch in the Boston area and the people involved are really welcoming. They usually have loaner gear so you can try it out and practice before investing in your own set.

Mock them at your peril. They wear armor and carry big sticks.

You definitely want them on your side.

by S. L. Sterling where the apocalypse has happened and the SCA has taken over western Oregon.

The name is S.M. Stirling. A fun read although not a literary gem by any means.

where the local yoots were mocking them.

The SCA fighters just shrugged them off. They knew they would win any real battle if it came to that. They are very serious about what they do.

I was wondering how foliage could be so vivid in Allston in September, until I realized that is a painted mural on a wall.

It looks like a painting of the lagoon in the Public Garden. I'm familiar with a lot of the murals in the neighborhood, but I don't know where that one is.

I was bored and located where this is.

This joist took place at the end of Harvard Terrace.

^ Street view from 2022 when the mural was just painted viewed from Harvard Ave. If you Street View down Harvard Terrace, the last set for this side street is from 2016 which was before the mural was painted.

Wow I know Allston is suppose to be hip.. including the latest fashions worn by the 20 something crowd. I mean I know kids these days like retro outfits but these are a little over the top. /jk

to be fair, I often wonder how the f we wore these outfits. So many layers, big puffy clothing.. then add the weight of a knights armor. Ooof.

All that armor cost a lot. And then you had to do your horse too.
