I usually avoid the Globe's movie reviews anyway, but thanks for the heads-up.

Actually, I gave away hardly anything. Some of us are sensitive to such matters. But, sure, if you want to go in knowing nothing, AVOID THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE. It's not rocket science. T.

Is it only Americans who are such chronic whiners about spoilers? (I don't see anything that I would rank as a significant spoiler in this review).
I've noticed that the original trailers for "classic" Japanese films routinely give away most or all major plot points. And, of course, the ancient Athenian dramatists almost always based their plays of stories that the audience already knew all about. ;~}

You and Morris suck. Seriously. I swear sometimes it seems like you hate every movie that doesn't have subtitles. And i'm not suprised by this blog post b/c i've seen you guys give away plot points in reviews before and its really aggravated me.
That being said, your 10,000 BC review was good. But otherwise I avoid you like the plague - partially b/c you're so haughty and partially b/c i'm afraid you'll tell me how it ends in the first paragraph.
Oh and one more thing. One of you losers (you or Morris) put The Brown Bunny on your annual top ten list and i've never forgiven you. I didn't know your lofty standards included porno.
Even a cursory inspection of Ty Burr's recent reviews...

...would confirm that he often gives favorable reviews to English language films (even, shudder, Hollywood ones).

I don't remember if I actually witnessed it or just heard about it: 20+ years ago when I lived in Maryland, there was a TV news movie reviewer on a DC station who sometimes gave away the ending of movies. The news anchor warned her once that if she did it again, he'd throw his cup of water at her. She did it again on another broadcast, and he followed through.
Outrage!

I think it's outrageous that these endlessly judgmental so-called "film critics" persist in injecting their own opinions into their so-called "reviews." What do we have to do to get objective film reviews these days? You people are worse than Hitler.
