Yes, I do remember when Wordsworth was a bookstore. The people who worked there were cool, I got to know some of them by name, and they to know me, we'd exchange "hellos" and small talk, and they were part of the reason that I was a frequent patron there. Moreover, it wasn't too, too far from where I live, either. The fact that they gave a discount (10%) on books was also wonderful, except, of course, if a book had to be special-ordered, then one would pay more, which was OK, too.
So, I've switched to Brookline Booksmith, which is an OK bookstore, as are the people working there, and I can bike to, also, but it's just not the same as Wordsworth.
It's rather disheartening to hear of such a dear old bookstore becoming a Scientology Center.
