Calmer on the Orange Line
After last week's Orange Line nightmare, I expected the worst on Saturday. But things went smoothly - and T personnel actually explained what was going on and where you could get shuttle buses to Oak Grove.
On the way home, though, there was some fun before the train left Downtown Crossing for Forest Hills. For some reason, the conductor had to close the doors for a second, then open them again. He came on the PA to ask people to get out of the doorway so he could do this. He was polite at first. The doors, at least in our car, closed. But apparently not everybody wanted to move. He got frustrated and started yelling:
Get out of the doorway! GET OUT OF THE DOORWAY! Vito, it's a kid in the first car!
Apparently Vito took care of the kid with dispatch for the doors closed then opened again and we were soon on our way.
