Matching funds

Just because I have the mind of a sieve doesn't mean you do, too, but just in case: If you make any Katrina donations, you might want to check with your HR department to see if your employer does matching contributions (fortunately in my case, our HR people sent out a memo about it today).

A friend of mine suggested in her blog that her friends can PayPal her if they want to make donations, since her company does match; My social group tends to be largely people who are self-employed or who work for nonprofits that can't afford to match, but there are a few of us who work for places that do. So find a friend whose company matches, and do it through that person.
