Train Rider reports on the fun on yesterday's 5:35 train to Worcester:
... After the Wellesley Hills stop, the train started to leave the station when, all of a sudden, the emergency brakes came on and we jammed to a halt. It seems a passenger jumped off of the train as we were leaving.
Now, for the semi-comical part, there must have been at least 10 announcements that we were at the Wellesley Hills stop . . . so it's not like said passenger shouldn't have known we were at the station. I don't believe the passenger was hurt. According to the conductor, I know they refused medical attention and limped away. You know, the three Wellesley stops are not that far apart. ...

as long as there was no consequence... sounds like fun.

Next thing you know, he'll be all over the Pacifica Radio feed saying a roving pack of rabid Bob Barr supporters (and their pet raccoon) attacked him when they saw his "Cynthia McKinney" bumpersticker.
Alternet will have a field day! - complete with extensive side threads containing longwinded rants about the propriety of having a car in the first place, let alone how the printing bumperstickers inspires people to drive SUVs.

I mean legally. Like if you want to bail from the train and you throw the E-brake to do so, you can be sanctioned by some state or municipal law (or so claim the stickers near the e-brake)
Ah, yes

I once jumped onto a moving train as it was leaving Concord station. I thought I was being clever and skillful. The conductor saw me and she was NOT amused. She threatened to kick me off the train, and for a moment I was convinced that she intended to toss me out the door while the train was in full motion.
Ah, Concord

When I was a lot younger and stupider, I was a reporter in West Concord and covered the story of a guy who had too much too drink at the 99, got kicked out, went over to the restaurant in the train station, had too much to drink, then got kicked out, then tried to jump on a moving train and fell off. Then sued the two restaurants for his injuries. Alas, I got transferred to another beat before his case was decided.
