Why not more condos?

John says that while 5,000 new condos in Boston sounds like a lot, Miami has 61,000 planned:

We are digging into the #'s for Miami and other hot spots around the US...but for Boston - we need more condos downtown. It has been a great ride for this booming downtown real estate market, however, longterm we need more housing. More and more people are moving back to the city and this is what has driven our prices up at record pace. We operate a condo portal called www.condoDomain.com and keep notes on the latest trends.
