But that doesn't mean they are "from" there. Bloomberg isn't from Brighton in any meaningful sense, as he was born at St. Elizabeth's while his parents lived in Allston, and moved when he was likely too young to remember.
Bloomberg was raised in the neighborhood I now live in - Lawrence Estates in Medford. He went to local schools from kindergarten onward, and has pumped a fair amount of scratch into the temple around the corner - rescued the building and the congregation from demise, actually.
His mom used to show up in a limo and gather up the elderly Jewish ladies like our neighbor across the street and take them out to party on the town. Rose is gone, but I expect there will be limos tomorrow! 100 couldn't happen to a more deserving lady, IMHO.
