When I was a teenager I was in a Demolay Minstrel show. The Demolay boys and Rainbow girls got on Maynard's Community Auditions show doing a syncopated tamborine routine.
Also, I remember my mother usually had WBZ on in the kitchen in the morning (when she wasn't listening to WJDA - we were on the South Shore). I still remember Maynard regularly playing Paul Simon's "Kodachrome" with the word "crap" roughly edited from the song. The beat stuttered because the word was physically cut from 'BZ's tape of the song.
I remember the time New York City issued all these parking tickets to Mass. residents who hadn't been there in years, if ever (and some weird little cement mixer on a trailer). Maynard led a bus of tricorner-hat-wearing Bostonians down to New York, where he fired toy cannons at New York City Hall.
