Boston_Fireman explains the Boston Fire Department Twitter Confusion

As many of you saw yesterday, there was confusion on the Boston Fire Department Twitter feed. I am a Boston Firefighter, and not knowing that the city was intending to set up an official Twitter feed, I set one up to keep those interested informed of fire department happenings around the city. Upon learning that an official Twitter feed was set up, I shut mine down.

I am restarting it as Boston_Fireman. I will by no means be competing with the official @BostonFire Twitter site. That will remain the official Twitter site for BFD. I will simply provide the information I was providing before (albeit a little bit clearer) as well as some other Tweets about things around the city (traffic problems, incidents just outside of Boston etc) when I possibly can, and possibly at times that the official feed cannot (late night). Basically, I will be taking what you'd hear on a scanner and put it into text.
