But everything against Cahill, who seems to have spent the past year just complaining about everything (and, possibly, ignoring his own responsibilities - look at that $25 million lottery hole he bequeathed the legislature) without articulating what, exactly, he's for.
C'mon now...

***to run a campaign for governor that could possibly consist solely of whining.**
That wasn't very nice....a dismissal in one sentence?
You can do better than that....
How about two sentences?

But to be fair to Cahill, maybe now that he's freed from the Democratic shackles, he'll actually start telling us what he's for, rather than simply what he's against.

He is a whiner - I'm glad he's left the Democratic Party. No loss.
Whatever it is, I'm against it

Well he has a year to prove himself I guess. He better make it good and make a big scene. If he can show how he is different from the Dems and actually get stuff done that the Republicans seem incapable of then he may have a shot. The worst thing he can do is just sit there and do nothing for the next year.
speak up and speak out!

***whining***
With all the nuttiness going on on Beacon Hill, we need some more audible whining instead of business as usual.
I'm all for more whining....and loud!
Let's hope kicks some butt!
Anybody can whine

Anybody with a voice can sit there and complain - it really takes no effort, or brains. Years ago, I delivered beer and we'd walk into bar rooms at 9 AM and hear patrons complaining about everything - the president, the governor, the mayor..... Like I said, anybody can do it.
The harder part is following that complaint up with a solution to the problem, and I believe that's Adam's point. Tell us what you'd do to make this a better place, to attract more jobs, to help single mothers, etc.

The difference is this guy WANTS to do something about it.
He's seeking higher office so he can do something about it.
To compare a guy going through the hassle of a campaign to a bunch of guys sitting in a barroom at 9AM is silly.
He needs a new gimmick

Cahill's best asset when he won the Treasurer's office was his cute little daughter reminding everyone to vote "Tim for Treasurer" on his commercials. Remember that? Didn't you want to puke?
Well, now she's all grown up (or, at the very least, not nearly as cute) and he's running for a constitutional office that begins with a letter other than 't'.
I don't like his chances.

It's not clear to me how the incumbent state treasurer thinks the voters will embrace him as the "outside candidate." Best of luck to him. I'll be working hard against him.

And the IQs of the Democratic Party and independents both were lowered!
