It will be interesting to watch this one work it's way up to SCOTUS. Will it place the Obama administration in the awkward position of arguing on behalf of DOMA? That's interesting from a political angle, but more interesting to me is how the court will rule. I've always thought that Massachusetts and now subsequently 5 more states would bust this issue open nationwide by means of the full faith and credit clause. Now we get to find out whether that theory holds true.
That's right, DOMA, a Clinton-era law, will be tested in the Federal courts to determine whether it is Constitutional or not, specifically whether it violates the full faith and credit and equal protection under the law clauses of the Constitution. IANAL
