Maybe the mayor's chair is empty because he was forced to flee a horde of rats in Allston

Imagine getting your mail and finding a large photo of an angry rat staring at you. Michael Pahre posts a copy of a palm card from Allston/Brighton City Council candidate Alex Selvig that features one rat's grim, beady visage on one side and Selvig's anti-rat plan on the other.

I got that postcard and
I got that postcard and after getting past the initial gross-out factor (which didn't take long, at this point rats can't really scare someone living in Allston anymore), I was actually intrigued. for a single person living in that area, this postcard got me to care a bit about selvig in a way that his previous adorable family photo cards hadn't (& he sent a lot of them). if you want to represent that area, I think an anti-rat plan is key, so I'm willing to accept the creepy mail if it gets me a step further from my nightly rodent encounters.
It got my attention
The day I received that card, I came home to 4 or 5 messages on my voicemail from city government candidates. As I deleted them, I said outloud, "I just want someone to do something about the rats". Then I went to check my mail, and there in my mailbox was the card from Alex Selvig - he's got my attention.
that's a funny image
