Common Cause tweets the state Senate gave preliminary approval to the measure to let Deval Patrick pick an interim U.S. senator, 24-16. It now goes to a Senate committee for a final lookover.
You need to redirect to their corrected tweet. It looks like they trashed the one you first linked to when they realized their wording was in error/not specific enough.
Just because the Democrats screwed up by taking this power away because of Romney only to see it come back to bite them now under Patrick doesn't mean we should compound their first error with a second one by continuing to operate with only a single Senate representative until our emergency election results kick in.
One stupid mistake should not beget another just so that we're consistent in being wrong, no matter how much the Republicans whine.

No - it goes to the House
"It now goes to a Senate committee for a final lookover."
Not quite right.
The Senate voted today to engross the bill. The House engrossed the bill last week.
Next step is enactment, first in House, then in the Senate. From their it goes to the Governor.
Oy
At the time I wrote it, the measure was going to, um, the Committee for a Third Reading? But yes, it then went for engrossment.

It's like "deleted" but with a tweet. Get it?
