State EEA to hold listening sessions that will impact state parks
On November 10, 2009 the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs issued a press release stating it is seeking ideas for Re-Organization, Public Private Partnerships and Regulatory Models. The Department of Conservation and Recreation is in EEA.
Listening Sessions have already started.
The first listening session for Public Private Partnerships is TODAY, November 17, 2009, from 4-6 pm, at 100 Cambridge Street 2nd floor, conference room ABC. DCR Commissioner Rick Sullivan and EEA Senior Advisor and Counsel Christian Scorzoni want to know: Is there potential for greater sharing of responsibility for the management and operation of DCR properties with other public and private entities in a way that preserves and enhances opportunity for active, outdoor recreation by the public.
Another listening session on reorganization / consolidation is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2009, from 4-6 pm at 100 Cambridge Street, 2nd floor conference room B. EEA Under Secretary for Environment Philip Griffiths and Assistant Secretary for Policy David Cash want to know: Could EEA and its agencies be reconfigured to consolidate resources, clarify mission and reduce duplication of effort?
