On Overmatter, Carmen says she loved the food and drinks at Diva Indian Bistro, but that the meal was spoiled at the end by a racist waiter:
... My friend put her credit card on the table, and the waiter came by and took it, and he came back with the credit card slip, and my friend reached for it, but the waiter pushed it toward me. And then pushed it even more toward me. "Uh, that's mine," my friend said, but the waiter didn't want to hear it. My friend was dressed for a corporate takeover, by the way, and I was dressed to sweep chimneys.

That's not okay. Did you say anything to the waiter? Not fun to do, but calling people on these things, even gently, is likely to help keep them from happening in the future.
Anonymous above makes some assumptions of his/her own; why do you think that the Overmatter is actively looking for something to complain about? Do you think that people enjoy being treated in a racist manner??
wouldn't say it's an assumption

happens to me all of the time... for those who think Carmen's making an "assumption," for a fun little experiment, observe mixed groups at any restaurant receiving their check, and pay attention to who the waiter hands it to. Just coincidence? I think not...
