A Framingham girl gets a commendation from MBTA officials today for raising more than $750 to buy a bulletproof vest for Marco, an MBTA police dog.
MBTA Police Chief Paul MacMillan praised Madeleine Anna Barowsky, 13, in a memo:
She worked diligently for many months. She made dog-shaped fridge magnets, doggie earrings out of clay, homemade whole weat dog biscuits, and also sold lemonade at lemonade stands. She put out collection jars at pet stores in nearby towns and people were very generous with their spare change.
