She's bull over the cows

On Skiing in Jeans, Emily takes the contrary view on the fiberglass cows:

... First of all, they already did this a few years ago--but they were fish...crazy ugly fish on parade.

Whether fish or cows, this is not art. At least, not "good art." This is not good public art. But, is this what the people like? Is this what the masses cry out for? Does this make people think? Of course not, but it certainly doesn't threathen them, which is probably the point. They are colorful and stupid and pointless. Wow--there's a cow with a painting of Fenway Park on it!
