Malden man charged with stomping T worker at Roxbury Crossing

Transit Police report arresting Mohammad Noor, 27, on charges he beat up a worker at the Roxbury Crossing Orange Line stop on Sept. 20 when told he had to take an argument with another man outside the station.

According to police, Noor reacted to the request by punching the 69-year-old worker in the face until he dropped to the ground - and then kicked him in the face and head. Transit Police arrived to find the worker bleeding from his face and ear, while Noor flitted away after the 11:30 p.m. incident.

Police say officers spotted Noor at Ruggles today and arrested him on charges of aggravated assault and battery on an elderly person and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot).

Innocent, etc.

...he should have to sleep naked with Jack Nicholson.

I think they may have to start issuing mace or tasers to all T employees. This is getting ridiculous.

Wouldn't it be nice if the transit police actually rode the system and could be found at stations doing something other than useless random bag checks?

You mean like arresting guys wanted for assault? Yeah, that'd be awesome if they did that. It'd be even better if there were some kind of news site, on the internet, that reported on this sort of thing. And then - hear me out, I know this is crazy - allowing readers to "comment" on the news too! I'd be all over something like that, I tell you what.

Their presence is greater than you realize; they often ride the system undercover. But even then, they can't be everywhere all the time.

I doubt that's true. Why don't we ever hear about undercover transit officers arresting people, except in the very occasional farebeater or drug deal sting?

Meanwhile, officers are most visible sitting in their idling cars, hiding in various booths in stations where they can't see anything, or occasionally in large groups doing bag inspections.

Because what makes the news (even the more comprehensive sources, like uhub) only scratches the surface of law enforcement activity.

The T police should be on the trains and the buses at all times instead of standing around in a bunch at the downtown crossing stop.it's time they made there preasents know everywhere, onthe buses one in the front and one in the back.on the trains two or three on each train and that will cut down on a lot of the crime on the MBTA system. I don't know why they have not done that yet...

The T Cops were at this one so quick they got in a foot chase with the guy, he slipped away. Sounds like a fast response to me. You want the T to: reduce fares, rebuild everything, run more often and longer, AND hire enough cops to staff every station 24/7?!
