The Bachelor in Porter Square reports:

One of my co-workers who lives in Porter Square let me know today that someone broke into his apartment {Tuesday night]. Apparently there was a "rash of break-ins" [Tuesday] on the Cambridge side of the commuter rail tracks. ...

Josh Ourisman reports he lives on the third floor of a triple-decker in which the first-floor unit was broken into the other day:

What makes it a little scary, however, is that at the time of the break-in the woman who lives on the second floor was in the shower (she heard the thieves talking in the back stairwell when she got out). I know this is old news, but I live south of the commuter rail in Porter Square, and we had at least one break-in in the winter and two this summer. Pretty bad stuff.
