Why HEAL?Over the past two years, VDay Boston has raised over $20,000 to help local organizations working to end violence against women and children. After a phenomenal performance of Eve Ensler?s The Vagina Monologues on February 23rd and 24th, reaching an audience of over 500 people, V-Day Boston 2007 is $15,000 closer to reaching it?s goal of $20,000. VDay Boston 2007 is thrilled to be offering our first-ever conference. The conference will combine local artist, activists, educators, people of all ages and identities learning from each other around issues of health, education, and arts bringing us closer to our liberation. If you love yourself, your mother, your sister, your girlfriends, your grandmother, your aunt, or your children?join us for HEAL as we help make Boston safer for our women and children: by educating, collaborating, and inspiring our community, and by reaching our goal of raising $20,000 for The Network/La Red and local domestic violence agencies.

Why help the shelters? In 2006 local domestic violence shelters were hit hard by state and city-wide funding cuts. Many shelters closed. Many shelters downsized and now offer fewer beds to women and children fleeing abusive situations. Many shelters are running on deficits. It is our hope through the VDay Boston 2007 Campaign, that our fundraising efforts will help make a significant change for shelters that were recently affected by funding cuts. Join us March 23-25th in support of the Boston men and women who work diligently and tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of women and children fleeing abuse. Join us and help us heal Boston.
