Suspicious backpack shuts Back Bay intersection

Police shut the intersection of Berkeley Street and St. James Avenue around 1:50 .m. to let the bomb squad take a look at. Around 2:15 p.m., the bomb squad determined it was harmless.

Intersection closed for only 25 minutes is pretty fast. Thanks to Bomb squad for that.

I was on my bike and went right past there at that time yesterday. Given the number of emergency vehicles that were around, I thought they were having practice drills before the marathon.
