Stabbing suspect who allegedly escaped police climbing down garden hose has turned himself in
Javier Soto, a stabbing suspect who eluded police who thought they had him surrounded at Roslindale's Archdale project, turned himself in last week to face a variety of charges, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Police had tracked Soto to a third-floor apartment in Archdale last Tuesday, but when they finally got there, he was gone. Police later said he'd used a garden hose to get down to the ground.
Soto turned himself in Thursday at Suffolk Superior Court downtown, from which he was transported to West Roxbury Municipal Court for arraignment on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery.
Prosecutors asked for bail of $250,000 and that Soto be required to wear a GPS device and stay away. A judge set bail at $1,000 and agreed to order him to stay away from Archdale, the DA's office reports.
Innocent, etc.
