It's not that bad.. I remember going before the batchorette parties took over that place. It was a fun place for campy drag.
Mayray was pretty tame too but I've yet to find a gay bar that really surprised me with the clientele. Except maybe one or two bars in NYC with rauchy clientele.

If Jacque's is scary, I hope to god you never went in Playland or the Safari Club.
However, if I were going to nominate a candidate for haunted gay bars, I think the Napolean (RIP) would have been my choice.

That place wasn't really a club tho.. it was a bath house that was disguised as a club.

Make sure you check your trick out in bright light before taking him home for the night. That Abercrombie "twink" is actually a 60 year old once you see him under a street light.

Boston's hottest club
If you're looking for a good time, Boston's hottest club is Jacque's. It has everything: massacres, witch hangings, pirate executions, a room-full of people with kimono-related anxieties, the Boston Switcharoo [that thing where a major league baseball player shows up to the wrong bar downtown and finds himself crying in a tub six hours later].
