Carjacked while visiting her father's grave
By adamg on Sat, 05/26/2007 - 12:50pm
Boston Police report that a woman who had just lit a memorial candle at her father's grave at Forest Hills yesterday afternoon was in her car about to leave when a guy came up to her, showed a box cutter and demanded she get out of the car. Police patrolling Centre Street in West Roxbury 30 minutes later spotted the car; arrested Jamal Daniels, 26, of Roslindale on a carjacking charge.
This is at least Daniels's second car-related arrest. Last November, Boston Police reported arresting him on a charge of receiving a stolen-motor vehicle.

Wow
The woman who got carjacked should join The Dead Dad Club.

i am not one of the many
i am not one of the many overly sensitive people on this board, but that was just a foolish and unfunny comment.
And?
I'm a member of said club, and I didn't think the comment was intended to be funny. It seemed welcoming and appropriate to me. But, you know, if you need to go around anonymously judging everyone, then, please, by all means, don't let our club get in your way.

Crazy--and NOT in a funny way, either.
It's unbelievable how freaked out people become and resort to desperate, dangerous things such as carjacking. It goes to show that one can't take things such as safety for granted anymore, either. Scary!!
But...
But, the Gun Control Act of 1998 was supposed to make you all safer. And, with the "major success" of a gun buyback program that Menino had last year, who could have predicted that knife-wielding scumbags would still be preying on the defenseless women of Boston?
"It goes to show that one can't take things such as safety for granted anymore, either."
Sadly, if you're a Boston resident, you also can't take responsibility for your own safety. That means being responsible for your actions, and that's NOT "progressive".
Mayor Menino, who enjoys the benefit of a taxpayer-funded security entourage, has taken it upon himself to declare that the residents of Boston do not have the right to defend themselves from the lawless thugs who won't think twice about holding a knife to someone's throat to steal their car.
If that's OK with you, you're not well in the head.
Seek help.
If that's not OK with you - the fact that Menino (and an overwhelming majority of the MGC) considers a junkie's right to stick a screwdriver in your neck and take your wallet to be more sacrosanct than your right to prevent him from doing so - what are you gonna do about it?
Troll food
I'd really rather have a junkie stick a screwdriver in my neck than a gun. Poking me with a screwdriver wouldn't stop me from kicking his ass. But shooting me might. So I'm all in favor of lightly armed thugs. I guess you prefer them heavily armed?
Still on the street?
I can't believe this guy was still at large when this crime happened. Jamal stole a bunch of checks from me in Sept. '06, then got pinched on a different GTA charge. Put him away already for christ's sake!
