People yearning for more drink options at Harvard Avenue eatery to get wish

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday gave @Union on Harvard Ave. permission to extend its closing time from 10 p.m. to midnight and to add cordials to its beer and wine offerings.
At a hearing on Wednesday, @Union's attorney, Kristen Scanlon, said that the cordials will let the restaurant add more offerings to the drink menu for its weekend brunches.
She added later hours will let the restaurant, where the Grecian Yearning used to be, host private functions and events that might otherwise be booked elsewhere if they had to shut down at 10 p.m.
The mayor's office and Councilors Mark Ciommo, Michelle Wu and Michael Flaherty backed the additions.
