Anybody seen Harold the Spare Change guy recently?
Martha Scanlon e-mails to ask:
The "regulars" at Porter Square are worried about where our Spare Change vendor has gone. I believe his name is Harold, because that is what he wrote on a Christmas card he gave me one year. I have been buying the paper from him daily for years and he makes my day, always caring how I am. The Globe vendor said another regular buyer had planned to inquire, but she never got back to him. I assume you can't give out personal info, but if he is in the hospital or something, I would love to be able to get a card to him at least. He is a tall, chubby, very sweet, black man; in case you don't know where he is selling his copies I hope the description helps. Thanks for letting me know if he is okay.

I bought a Spare Change
I bought a Spare Change about two weeks ago from someone fitting that description in the Davis Square T stop, but I didn't read his badge.
Hope your guy's OK!
i heard he decided to get a
i heard he decided to get a job and live in a place with four walls and heat
Brave anon? He has a job.
Brave anon? He has a job. It's selling papers. Duh.
A new job then?
It is possible that he moved on. I thought the whole idea behind the Spare Change concept was to employ people in a supported environment so they could get their lives in shape, not to provide a lifetime job.
Harold will return
Harold has been away due to health concerns. He's doing OK
