Bet this'll never happen with the seats on the new Orange Line trains

If loose lips sink ships, what do loose seats on the Orange Line do? Andrew Choy spotted this seat-to-go this afternoon.

Well...
They help with door faults!
The manual door release mechanism is located under the seats nearest the doors.
A few years back when 01204 suffered a laughably catastrophic rush hour door failure [note: exactly what it sounds like] the motorwoman had to ask the several people sitting in the special seats to stand up so she could unhinge the seats and access the valve.
Now as to why someone at the T or Hawker-Siddeley didn't look on the specs (basically the leftover ones from a previous PATH order) and wonder: "Hmm, yeah. That's a stupid and inconvenient spot to put the manual door valve..."
No surprise The Orange Line
No surprise The Orange Line is so disgusting! Dirty and smelly cars. Makes the Red Line look good
