Back Bay, South End beset by horrible dog owners
By adamg on Sun, 10/01/2017 - 12:26pm
SafeResponsibleMover shows us a sign taped to a tree on Marlborough Street in the Back Bay. Yesterday, somebody filed a complaint (complete with photo) about somebody who keeps dropping his or her pet's rear-end extrusions next to one particular tree on Dartmouth Street in the South End.

I'll find time to get upset....
.... about this when the smokers stop blowing smoke and tossing butts on the street.
When people stop speeding and leaving their cars all along the sides of streets.
When people aren't sitting on sidewalks because they have to place to call home.
Idk, id say piling bagged dog
Idk, id say piling bagged dog shit consistenly in the same spot is worse than any of your comparisons.
If youre going to have a dog in the city, figure out how youre going to deal with it.
I'd say consistently throwing your butts on the ground is just
as bad. If you're going to smoke in public, figure out a way to deal with it.
Perfect
Since you're cool with the dog shit can we dump it all in your yard?
Yup.
No sense improving anything until it's a perfect world.
Someone else in doing the same thing
on my street in Fields Corner. Cute little blue bags filled with dog poop. No signs so far.
Best response
We were on the Tremont Street in Lower Rox the other day when a crossover vehicle pulled in front of us. It had a little blue bag tied to the rear windshield wiper.

Poop
At least they left the poop bagged. I have a pile of foreign feces on my front lawn to pick up today. The dog walkers behavior won't change, the signs are useless.
A better sign
I don't understand - what
I don't understand - what does it mean?
Claymore ...
... a directional anti-personnel weapon, typically deployed in defensive emplacement. It's basically a shaped charge and a bunch of bb's. And, of course, a reminder of which way to point the thing: "Not at yourself."
That's the most frustrating part
You want to talk about how inconsiderate they are, but you know they could be worse.
A weird lazy habit of more than a few
Happens in JP as well. Just bizarre that anyone would pick up the dog feces with a bag, hopefully tie the bag closed and then just leave it. Based on the assumption that a street cleaner will visit to pick it up?
Why would this arise as a behavior happening simultaneously in different neighborhoods? It's not the psychopathic tree killer of just one neighborhood. It is the feces droppers of several. PU.
Parks
Go to the Fells or pretty much any park. At any of the gates you'll see little mountains of these. It always struck me as odd that you'd bag shit, walk around with it and then just deposit it somewhere other than a trash barrel.
That sounds like
they're saying that a barrel should be there.
This happens every fall
This happens every fall/winter at the Savin Hill beach. The city usually takes away most of the trash cans at the beach/park for the winter, particularly the one nearest where everyone would enter to the boardwalk and park. People put their bagged dog poop in the exact spot where that barrel would live, which I've always assumed is a protest against the city removing the barrel.
happens in the south end as well
...for at least the last couple of years, and I think we've got a good number of public trash cans. More than once bagged dog poop has been tossed up on our stoop.
It's a huge problem all over
It's a huge problem all over the city, especially in South Boston. Dog owners think they are above the law! It's so gross.
The stupidity and arrogance
The stupidity, arrogance, laziness, and sense of entitlement of some dog owners is shocking. What the heck did they think was going to happen when they got a dog in the city?
LOL
Take some anecdotes and then type "[insert entire group] thinks they are above the law."
Very persuasive argument.... Where have I seen that before? It's been said of bikers, drivers, turkeys, essentially 1/3 of all UHub articles. Maybe save that type of group condemnation for the bank robbery stories.
Happens all along D St too,
Happens all along D St too, but there are no trash receptacles either.
They do it everywhere -
They do it everywhere - someone is leaving bags of poop in the sewer grate at the corner of Magdala and gallivan - the digesters don't want to carry their bags if shit home - they want you to do it fir them.
I'm honestly surprised
This has been posted for over 12 hours and there hasn't been one self-righteous post of "How hard is it to just pick it up and throw it out instead of whining about it..."
You're slipping, UHub.
Somewhat of a tangent
Is anyone else getting ads with this story for winter outerwear that can make your dog look like a tardigrade?
