Revels cut short

The Christmas Revels, held annually in Harvard's Sanders Theatre, usually continue for several days after Christmas. This year, the show was scheduled to close on December 29. Instead, tomorrow's performances will be the final ones for 2021:

Regrettably, and with the safety of our cast, crew, and audience in mind, Revels has made the difficult decision to cancel our six post-Christmas performances (Dec 26 – Dec 29). We encourage you to join us virtually for our extended run, streaming December 30 – January 9.

A now former Harvard employee who rented the university's Sanders Theatre for a play about what he considers the evils of Jewish circumcision is suing the school and the Harvard Crimson for everything from civil-rights violations to libel because of the way a Harvard official stopped the performance. Coronavirus forces cancellation of memorial oratorio at Harvard theater

Coro Allegro, which had scheduled a performance tomorrow of Robert Stern's oratorio, Shofar at the Sanders Theater at Harvard, has had to cancel the event because Harvard is no longer allowing large public gatherings on its campus due to Covid-19 concerns. Read more.
