Join 7NEWS and Project Bread to STOMP Out Hunger! at the opening night performance of STOMP in Boston, Thursday, October 1 (show runs through October 18 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre). On opening night Project Bread will receive a $10 donation for each ticket sold! STOMP, the award-winning, international percussion sensation, has performed in 350 cities and 36 countries. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments — such as matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and hubcaps to fill the stage with sensational rhythms.

Grant Supports Food for Frail Homebound Seniors in Boston
The Wal-Mart Foundation recently awarded Project Bread $25,000 to support the Food for Seniors Program. This program supports Project Bread’s mission by providing immediate hunger relief to homebound elders while helping them enroll in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as “food stamps.” Escalating food costs and fixed incomes are causing an increasing number of seniors to seek out food assistance.
The 7NEWS team has cooked up a great way to help feed the hungry. For a modest contribution to Project Bread, the state’s leading antihunger organization, donors can treat themselves to more than 20 different holiday recipes - from Randy Price’s “Mud Bug Salad,” and Frances Rivera’s “Crusted Baked Brie and Apricot Dip;” to Pete Bouchard’s “Homemade Chocolate Coconut Bars,” and Joe Amorosino’s “Pan-Seared Halibut with Black Bean Salsa Fresca.” These recipes and more are now available online.
