The Ward 19 Democratic Committee will meet Monday, January 6, at 7:00 PM at the Roslindale Community Center. The Committee welcomes any voters registered as Democrats in Ward 19 who are interested in participating in Committee events, and contributing to our mission, to attend our meetings. At this meeting, we will be preparing for our February caucus.

With sadness, the Ward 19 Democratic Committee reports the death of longtime Committee member and local activist Wayne Wilson Jr., on November 15, 2013. Wayne was a tireless worker for many Democratic and progressive causes, and an active candidate for the Massachusetts State Senate in the Norfolk & Suffolk district. He is survived by his wife Irene, his sons Tommy and Robbie, and his daughter, Kristyn Paige. Visiting hours will be at Gormley Funeral Services in West Roxbury, MA, on Thursday, November 21, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Blue Mass. Group has a forum for discussing today's Democratic caucuses. Note: At 6:53 p.m., BMG had a lot more results than boston.com, which still had only an AP report about campaigning by Reilly and Patrick with no actual results in it.

What? You weren't aware there was one? Of course, there is, and David takes a look at the three initial Democratic candidates. Sure, it seems like a useless office, but if recent history is any guide, whoever becomes lieutenant governor ultimately becomes governor, what with the Beacon Hill being such a jumping-off point for um, the ambassador's job in Ottawa. David adds the Blue Mass. Group interviewed one on the phone recently and hopes to post notes soon.
