In case you were wondering if it had been awhile since we'd gotten any thrown-food news out of Wellesley, relax: The Swellesley Report reports a couple was sitting outside a local restaurant enjoying a recent August night when somebody "threw a milkshake in their direction which struck the ground and splattered on them."

The challenges faced by the Boston housing market have been well documented in 2020. The pandemic has caused massive shifts in urban population distribution in metropolitan areas all across the country, and Boston is no exception. The state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission voted last week to indefinitely suspend the liquor license of a Weymouth bar where inspectors say they found an unmasked bartender, customers swigging liquor without food and an owner whom inspectors said told them that coronavirus "is a bunch of bullshit" and "that no government is going to tell me how to run my business." Crowded 222 bus this morning

Oh, wait a second! There aren't supposed to be any typical crowded morning commutes anymore - six feet, anyone? Ryan rode the bus, which goes from East Weymouth to Quincy Center around 7 this morning and was less than pleased:

222 right now. Ridiculous with 30 min headways.

Desolate houses left over from the filming of the Patriot

Marc Hurwitz found this post-apocalyptic empty hellscape while wandering around what's left of the South Weymouth Naval Air Station yesterday - fortunately for him, rather than a village decimated by zombies, it turned out to be the recreation of a street in Watertown for that movie where Markie Mark single-handedly solved the Boston Marathon bombings.

First, let's note that the Weymouth school superintendent today issued a press release that a worker developed a fever after returning home from a trip abroad last week, even though the country "is not a country that currently has any travel restrictions around the Coronavirus," and will return to work once he or she is feeling better.

But also: Read more.

Prevailing sentiment in progressive haunts is “2016, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” Between a stressful election season, acts of terror, and the crisis in Syria, many of us will be glad to see the calendar page turn on Sunday night. Still, to every cloud there is a silver lining, and at least when it comes to tackling climate change in the US, Massachusetts was a bright spot amidst the clouds of 2016.

This is what remains of the second bombing location for the movie, currently taking place on the decommissioned Weymouth NAS. Weeks-old debris remains from pyrotechnics, and filming has shifted to the Watertown set (see rooftops in the distance on left). Interesting to watch some of the film making process unfold. The amount of resources put toward this seem inexhaustible.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports it's looking for next of kin of three people whose bodies were stuffed into a Weymouth self-storage unit, along with nine other bodies, allegedly by an unlicensed Dorchester funeral director who now faces trial on 278 charges related to improper disposal of bodies and the theft of pre-funeral funds.

According to the DA's office, the three people whose remains have yet to be turned over to relatives for proper burial are:
